SSU detains informants who passed intelligence on Ukrainian Defence Forces in Avdiivka sector to enemy

In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in Donetsk region, the SSU exposed two FSB agents.

They were collecting intelligence on locations of combat positions and fortifications of the Defence Forces near Avdiivka.

The information was passed to the enemy using a code via anonymous messenger apps and the banned social network Odnoklassniki.

Occupiers needed the intelligence to prepare missile and artillery strikes on Ukrainian troops.

The SSU documented criminal actions of both offenders and detained them on collecting classified information for the aggressor.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplices were two residents of Novohrodivka, Pokrovsk district, who publicly supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

They actively spread destructive narratives through banned russian social networks.

Because of such activity, they came to the attention of an FSB officer, who remotely engaged them in cooperation as informants.

To gather intelligence, they walked to target areas, collected intelligence on locations of Ukrainian facilities and passed the coordinates through a ‘liaison’.

The latter turned out to be a militant of the ‘DNR’ terrorist organization, who is serving in the occupation forces on the eastern front.

During the searches of the suspects’ homes, the SSU found mobile phones and computers which were used to communicate with the aggressor.

SSU investigators served both enemy informants notices of suspicion.

The suspects are in custody. The investigation is ongoing: the SSU has already identified their FSB handler and the ‘liaison’.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
