SSU detains enemy informant recruited by her son, ‘DNR’ militant
The SSU had apprehended another enemy agent who was collecting intelligence on locations and routes of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Donetsk oblast.
The perpetrator tried to identify locations of the AFU personnel and heavy weapons near Bakhmut and pass the information to the aggressor.
The enemy’s accomplice was tracking the movement of Ukrainian armoured vehicles and multiple launch rocket systems.
She also collected information on the consequences of russian strikes on civilian infrastructure of Kostiantynivka.
The informant used a messenger app to transmit the data to her son, a militant of the russian occupation groupings, who is on the front line and cooperates with the russian intelligence.
The suspect was detained in Sloviansk, where she moved as an internally displaced person from one of the frontline towns. During the searches of her apartment, the SSU seized a mobile phone with evidence of the crime.
According to the investigation, the traitor is a resident of the region, involved in the reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine by her son.
To gather the intelligence, she would walk in the area, covertly recording ‘targets’, as well as ask locals for the information she was looking for.
SSU investigators have now served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
