SSU detains informants of russian military intelligence who adjusted enemy fire on Pokrovsk

The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another two informants of russian special services who operated in Donetsk region. They were reconnoitering the locations of the Defense Forces and adjusting russian air attacks.

The aggressor was interested in the coordinates of Ukrainian troops and routes of heavy weapons in the hottest area of the frontline – Pokrovsk direction.

The enemy agents were two women from Pokrovsk aged 22 and 24. First, the FSB recruited the younger of the two, a relative of a local UOC-MP priest, through a pro-kremlin Telegram channel and ordered her to spy on Ukrainian defenders.

Later, she received a task to involve other local residents in the sabotage and recruited her friend.

The agents walked around Pokrovsk area and covertly recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders. The collected information was sent as text messages and photos to their russian handler via a messenger app.

After reconnaissance near the eastern front, the FSB ordered the assets to set fire to a military vehicle.

The SSU detained the perpetrators and seized the phones they used in their criminal activity.

SSU investigators have notified both detainees of suspicion.

The suspects are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison.
