The SSU detained fugitive head of the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration in Kherson region, who had spent three months in hiding. Detention or UAH 594,000 (USD 22,633) bail was chosen as a preventive measure.

The official was apprehended as in July, having been notified of suspicion, he tried to evade justice by hiding from the court and the investigators. In late July, he was declared wanted. The fugitive was tracked down in Kyiv.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of embezzlement through abuse of office.

The SSU exposed this official on corruption. He breached the public procurement procedure and concluded a contract to circumvent tender rules. According to findings, the equipment supplied under the contract was worth UAH 1,7 m (USD 64,776), while he misappropriated UAH 703,000 (USD 26,786) of the sum.

The SSU Main Office in the Crimea and the SSU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime carried out the operation under the supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
