SSU detains collaborator who was ‘expert’ in russian interior ministry and fabricated cases against Ukrainians during Kupiansk’s occupation
As a result of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Kharkiv region, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.
The offender is a resident of Kupiansk who supported russian invaders when the full-scale invasion began.
When the city was captured, the individual voluntarily collaborated with the enemy and joined he ‘department of internal affairs’ established by the aggressor.
There, he was appointed as an ‘expert’ in the ‘forensic unit’ of the occupation entity.
In this position, the traitor participated in fabricating cases against members of the resistance movement.
To do this, the ‘expert’ used ‘material evidence’ that had been ‘planted’ to draw up ‘conclusions’ required by ruscists.
For this, the collaborator received a monthly ‘salary’ in russian rubles.
After Kupiansk’s liberation, the offender was hiding from justice in a private house in the area.
However, the SSU found and detained him.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU).
The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint.
The suspect is facing up to 15 years in prison.
The SSU Kharkiv Office carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
