SSU detains collaborator who joined ‘russian interior ministry’ to fabricate cases against Ukrainians during Kupiansk’s occupation

The SSU has detained another enemy accomplice for collaborating with russian invaders during temporary occupation of Kharkiv region.

The offender is a 31-year-old resident of Kupiansk. During the occupation, he applied to join the ‘directorate of russia’s ministry of internal affairs in Kharkiv region’ established by the aggressor.

Given the man’s pro-kremlin ‘position’, the ruscists appointed him an ‘operative of the criminal investigation unit’.

In this ‘position’, he fulfilled the orders of the local gauleiter to carry out mass repressions against the resistance movement.

To do this, the collaborator participated in ‘punitive raids’ on homes of Ukrainian patriots, illegally detained and brought them to the occupation police station.

There, he took the victims’ fingerprints and attached these to the ‘criminal cases’ fabricated to imprison pro-Ukrainian men and women in russian torture chambers.

After Kupiansk’s liberation, the ‘operative’ tried to hide from justice in the region. However, the SSU found and apprehended him.

SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 15 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the stabilization activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
