SSU detains collaborators who headed russian ‘ministry of emergency department’ during occupation of Kherson right bank

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained two collaborators who worked with ruscists at the beginning of the full-scale war. After the capture of Kherson, both individuals voluntarily joined the occupation ‘ministry of emergency of the russian federation’.

One of the enemy accomplices is a former military officer who agreed to head the ‘emergency response directorate’ in the pseudo-institution.

While in this ‘position’, he involved subordinate personnel and special equipment for the needs of the russian occupation troops fighting on the southern front.

Among other things, the ‘official’ helped the aggressor to equip fortifications and checkpoints, transport weapons and ammunition to the front under the guise of humanitarian convoys.

Another detainee is a former ‘chief economist of the main directorate of russia’s emergency ministry in Kherson region’.

According to the investigation, she was responsible for the introduction of the ‘ruble zone’ in this pseudo-agency and called on population to support the ruscists in the war against Ukraine.

After the de-occupation of Kherson, the woman got a job at the city branch of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, submitting false personal data to the institution.

However, feeling the inevitability of punishment, she tried to escape to Mykolaiv region.

The SSU found and detained her at a checkpoint in the southern region.

SSU investigators notified the perpetrators of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).

The suspects are in custody and face 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Kherson Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
