SSU detains collaborator hiding as IDP in Kryvyi Rih

The SSU has uncovered another organizer of russia’s sham referendum, which took place during the occupation of the right-bank Kherson region.

During the fake plebiscite, the woman was a member of russia’s ‘election commission’ in the then-occupied village of Vesele, Kakhovka district.

Accompanied by armed invaders, she visited households and urged local population to ‘vote in favour of the region’s accession’ to russia.

After the community was liberated, the collaborator came to Kryvyi Rih as an internally displaced person and tried to hide from the law. She also applied for social benefits and housing.

As a result of stabilization measures, the SSU apprehended the former ‘official of election commission’.

According to the investigation, the woman is a native of Novokakhovka community, Kherson region. With the start of the full-scale invasion, she supported the enemy and offered her assistance in the war against Ukraine.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served her a notice of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation is carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
