SSU detains member of Oplot terrorist group
In Donetsk region, the SSU detained a former IAF member of the so-called ‘DNR’. The suspect was recruiting militants for groups that took part in hostilities against the ATO forces.
According to the investigation, she is a resident of Bakhmut and joined the Oplot terrorist group in 2014. Being at the marksman’s position, she took part in fighting against the Ukrainian military. Then, the militant was appointed to an ‘HR unit’, where was responsible for recruiting for the group.
After a falling out with the group leaders, she left for the government-controlled territory and tried to hide from justice.
In the search of the woman’s properties, law enforcement officers discovered communications devices and a laptop with evidence of illegal activities.
The detainee has been notified of suspicion of participation in a terrorist group. The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.
The SSU is relentlessly targeting and pursuing individuals involved in crimes against Ukraine’s national security.
The SSU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
