SSU detains GRU spotter guiding russian 1.5-ton aerial bombs at defenders in Kramatorsk

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russian military intelligence (the GRU) in Donetsk region. The perpetrator was preparing coordinates for russian airstrikes on Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka.

Using the intelligence provided by him, the ruscists hoped to strike the Defence Forces with super-heavy FAB-500 high-explosive aerial bombs or even 1.5-ton FAB-1500 bombs equipped with guidance and adjustment modules.

In this way, the enemy planned to inflict maximum damage on backup command posts, fortified areas, and logistics depots containing weapons and ammunition for Ukrainian troops.

The SSU identified the traitor and documented his activities in the frontline area.

Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of Ukrainian units in the Kramatorsk sector. In the final stage of the operation, the agent was detained.

As the investigation established, the enemy spotter turned out to be a local unemployed man recruited by the aggressor state.

He came to the GRU’s attention while seeking ‘easy money’ on specialised Telegram channels administered by the russian intelligence operatives.

After remote recruitment, the agent visited communities near the front lines to identify, photograph, and mark the locations of Donetsk region defenders on Google Maps.

He stored the collected information on his smartphone for subsequent transmission to his handler in russia. Communication with him was carried out via a messaging app.

A phone containing evidence of the suspect’s intelligence collection and contacts with the GRU was seized during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
