SSU detains spotter who guided russian missiles at radar stations in central Ukraine

In Cherkasy region, the Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another agent of russia’s federal security service. The perpetrator adjusted russia’s missile and drone strikes on the military and energy infrastructure of this central region of Ukraine.

To prepare a new series of air attacks, the occupiers hoped to obtain coordinates of Ukrainian air defense radar stations.

To do this, the FSB remotely recruited a 46-year-old local resident who came to their attention when he was looking for quick money on Telegram.

After recruitment, the asset started to travel around the area trying to identify air defense positions.

While doing so, he also recorded the geolocations of critical energy facilities and the consequences of enemy strikes for further adjustment of russian air attacks.

The SSU identified the traitor at an early stage and disrupted russia’s plans.

After his crimes were documented, the agent was caught in the act when he was conducting reconnaissance near a military installation.

The investigation revealed that the man was also supposed to install a hidden webcam opposite a potential target to remotely direct russian air attacks.

The detainee’s cell phone with an anonymous chat in a messenger app that he used to contact the FSB was seized during searches.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Cherkasy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
