SSU detains spotters who guided russian missiles at airfields and air defence systems in Ukraine’s three regions

The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended two accomplices of russian intelligence services who were spying on the Defence Forces in central and western regions of Ukraine.

In Cherkasy oblast, new attempts by russia to obtain information on the Defence Forces have been prevented. A 20-year-old resident of Radyvyliv was detained for spying on AFU units moving towards the front through the western region.

In case of seeing military convoys, the perpetrator recorded the approximate number of military equipment and its tactical characteristics.

Under the pretext of meeting his relatives, the man also travelled to Lviv region and tried to establish locations of operational airfields.

In exchange for the cooperation, the aggressor promised the informant extraction to russia and a russian passport.

A 58-year-old woman was detained in Poltava: she was adjusting russian missile and drone attacks on city.

To help the enemy evade Ukrainian air defences, the spy reconnoitered the locations of radar stations near the city.

It was also documented that she was collecting information on the consequences of enemy strikes.

Mobile phones with evidence of working for russian intelligence were seized from the suspects during searches.

SSU investigators served the detained individuals notices of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.

The operations were carried out by SSU Offices in Poltava and Cherkasy regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
