SSU detains FSB mole in military unit in Kirovohrad region

The SSU Military Counterintelligence, with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has detained another FSB agent among the military.

The enemy accomplice is a 32-year-old driver-electrician at a military unit in Kirovohrad oblast who coordinated russian air strikes on the central region of Ukraine.

The investigation established that the traitor collected coordinates of Defense Forces hospitals and other medical facilities where Ukrainian soldiers are being treated.

The traitor also passed on to the FSB the routes of his military unit’s movements towards the front line, as well as the types of weapons they had.

After completing his tasks, the agent hoped to be extracted to a temporarily occupied part of Donetsk oblast, where he planned to join russian occupation forces and fight against Ukraine.

The SSU Military Counterintelligence foiled his plans and caught him red-handed while he was conducting visual reconnaissance near a military facility.

A phone with evidence of his work for the enemy was seized at the scene.

Prior to the arrest, the SSU took action to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.

The individual came to the attention of the occupiers through his anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels. During recruitment, the russian special services promised him money, which he never received.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Th operation was carried out jointly with the SSU Kirovohrad Office under the procedural guidance of Kropyvnytskyi Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office for the Southern Region.
