SSU detains FSB mole who adjusted missile strikes in Kharkiv region and attempted to escape to occupants' positions

The SSU Military Counterintelligence jointly with the AFU units has prevented the escape of an FSB agent who was adjusting missile and bomb attacks in Kharkiv region.

According to the investigation, the invaders needed the intelligence to carry out a fire attack on the civilian infrastructure of one of the frontline cities in the region.

The spy was detained near the contact line in the Kupiansk area when he was trying to get to the occupiers' positions.

There, russian servicemen with St. George's ribbon insignia on their sleeves had to meet him.

Later, they planned to take the informant to the FSB “office” in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region and thus complete his “evacuation”.

The investigation has established that the agent is a former conscript of one of the military units of the Defense Forces, who before his discharge cooperated with the FSB.

The traitor was encouraged for cooperation by his parents, who live in the temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine and are under the control of the russian intelligence services.

The occupiers communicated with the conscript through his parents to pass the coordinates of potential targets and offered him a plan for further escape after “demobilization.”

They used anonymous messenger chats for communication. According to the investigation, the agent sent the geolocations to the enemy as marks on a Google map.

Based on the evidence collected, investigators of the SSU Office in Kharkiv region served him a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement or deployment of the Armed Forces or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The detainee is currently in custody facing up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
