SSU detains cadet of military institute who prepared missile attack on barracks of her groupmates on FSB order
The SSU Military Counterintelligence has uncovered an agent of russia’s federal security service who intended to guide a missile strike on one of Ukrainian military institutes.
The enemy accomplice is a cadet who studied at this institution and cooperated with the ruscists for the promise of a monetary reward.
The occupiers were interested in the coordinates of educational buildings and barracks of this institute, which was relocated from Kharkiv to Lviv region after the full-scale invasion.
According to the investigation, the traitor was going to pass to the FSB the geolocation of the institute’s buildings, where other cadets, including her classmates, were staying.
According to the enemy instructions, the girl was to leave the territory of the restricted facility without permission on the eve of the strike.
Next, the FSB was supposed to extract its agent from Ukraine to russia by transit through third countries.
The SSU Military Counterintelligence identified the traitor at an early stage and documented her crimes. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the places of cadets’ study and residence.
At the final stage of the operation, the SSU detained the perpetrator when she tried to pass the coordinates of the targets to the FSB and then escape from the military institute.
The agent’s mobile phone with evidence of her work for the enemy was seized.
SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out jointly with the SSU investigators in Lviv region under the procedural supervision of Lviv Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.
