SSU detains enemy agent in Kyiv region registering Starlink terminals for ruscists

The Security Service has detained another enemy agent in Kyiv region. At the behest of the russian intelligence services, the individual registered Starlink satellite terminals for the occupiers.

As the investigation established, the agent turned out to be a construction worker from Irpin.

Lured by the promise of ‘easy money’, he first registered Starlink in his own name and passed the registration details to his handler.

It was documented that the agent subsequently registered two more Starlink terminals in the names of his colleague and his colleague’s wife without their knowledge.

After that, the suspect planned to enlist another twenty acquaintances to verify the russian terminals.

The Security Service detained the agent at a construction site in Irpin. Several smartphones that he used to communicate with ruscists and recruit front people to register Starlink accounts were found during a search at his home.

The man came to the attention of the russian intelligence while seeking ‘quick money’ on Telegram channels.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

The Security Service of Ukraine asks citizens to remain vigilant. If you are approached with dubious proposals, have seen suspicious objects or individuals, or have information about the activities of russian intelligence services, or about websites and social media pages they use for recruitment, please report this to the SSU:
