SSU detains enemy spotter who adjusted russian missile strikes on grain corridor in Odesa oblast

The SSU’s cyber units have detained another informant of russian intelligence services who adjusted russia’s air strikes on Odesa region.

The enemy’s main targets were the Defence Forces’ bases and logistics centres for export of Ukrainian grain near the Black Sea.

The occupiers needed the intelligence to prepare a series of attacks on the region’s military and critical infrastructure using missiles and kamikaze drones.

However, the SSU worked proactively and timely identified the aggressor’s spotter, documented the crime and detained her.

The suspect is a resident of Prymorske village, Odesa oblast.

According to the investigation, she communicated with the invaders through her son, who lives in russia and is in contact with the enemy intelligence agencies.

During the search, the SSU seized the mobile phone used by the woman in the criminal activity.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detained enemy informant a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU, committed under martial law);
  • 436-2.1, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Cherkasy and Odesa regions under the procedural supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
