SSU detains enemy accomplice Odesa oblast, who raised funds for russian occupation troops in Ukraine
The SSU Counterintelligence has exposed another enemy accomplice in Odesa region.
The offender organized fundraising for the russian occupation groups fighting against Ukrainian Defence Forces on the southern and eastern fronts.
These enemy units include russian battalion-tactical groups located in the occupied areas of Mariupol and Kherson region.
To raise funds, the woman wrote posts in social networks, including those banned in Ukraine.
In these messages, she called to support the occupiers and help them with logistics.
To do this, she offered to transfer money to a bank card of her relative, who is deployed with one of russia’s military groups.
The SSU detained the suspect in the course of counter-sabotage measures.
According to the investigation, the detainee is a resident of Odesa region who supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The woman actively spread her pro-kremlin views through russian social networks, as well as during communication with others.
It was established that her relatives were members of the ‘DNR’ terrorist organization since 2016 and were actively involved in warfare against Ukrainian troops.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the militants joined the occupation groups of russia’s Southern military district.
It was through them that she tried to establish an uninterrupted channel of financing for ruscists.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
Court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the coordination of the SSU Counterintelligence Department with the involvement of the AFU Special Operations Forces and the procedural supervision of Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
