SSU detains deputy director of educational institution in Sumy region who leaked AFU locations to ruscists
The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another enemy informant in the north of Sumy oblast. He passed intelligence to the occupiers on bases and movement of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the area bordering Kursk region.
According to the SSU cyber units, the perpetrator was the deputy director of a local educational institution, who lived in a frontline village and hoped that russia would capture the entire north-eastern region of Ukraine.
The man wrote about this in comments on Telegram channels, which brought him to the attention of russian intelligence.
To gather information, he travelled around the border under the pretext of ‘private affairs’ and secretly photographed military facilities, including reserve command posts of Ukrainian defenders.
The agent then recorded the coordinates and summarized them in a ‘report’ for his russian handler.
The SSU detained the traitor and prevented him from leaking information on the deployment and movement of the Defence Forces.
A mobile phone, computer and flash drives with evidence of his crimes were seized during searches.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion, and he is being held in custody without bail.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Sumy region jointly with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
