SSU detains kindergarten security guard who guided russian missiles at homes of civilian Ukrainians in Zaporizhzhia region (video)

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained an agent of russian military intelligence who adjusted enemy missile attacks on Zaporizhzhia oblast.

The SSU established that he had directed russia air strikes on residential areas in the village of Stepnohirsk on the eve of 2024.

As a result of that attack, a 43-year-old man died and many private homes were damaged or completely destroyed.

According to the investigation, the enemy spotter is a security guard at a local kindergarten. The man was recruited remotely in December last year by the main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces (‘the GRU’).

It was his friend, a chorister of a local UOC-MP church, who brought him to the attention of the occupiers. She has fled to the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region and is working for the aggressor’s intelligence service.

On the GRU’s instructions, the agent collected intelligence on locations and movements of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Zaporizhzhia sector.

The enemy was particularly interested in areas with high concentration of Ukrainian military personnel equipment.

The traitor also adjusted russian missile strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure in the region, which has caused casualties.

The SSU detained the perpetrator at his home. During the search, investigators seized a mobile phone used by him to communicate with the GRU via a popular messenger app.

The detainee has been served a notice of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed upon prior conspiracy by a group).

The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.

The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
