SSU detains supporter of ruscism who praised fake ‘referendum’ during Kherson’s occupation
As the investigation revealed, the suspect is an unemployed resident of the village of Antonivka, located near the regional centre.
The woman urged local residents to take part in the fake plebiscite and to ‘vote’ for the so-called annexation of the Kherson region to the aggressor state.
She also praised russian troops and spoke out in support of the occupying regime.
Following the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, the collaborator moved to Kherson as an internally displaced person and went into hiding in a rented flat.
To evade justice, she led a low-profile life, effectively evading public appearances unless absolutely necessary.
The SSU documented the suspect’s crimes, established her location and detained her.
During searches, a smartphone, which she had used to disseminate pro-kremlin propaganda, was seized from her.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of her status as a suspect under two Articles the CCU:
- 111-1.5 (collaboration);
- 436-2.3 (justifying, recognising as lawful, or denying russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorifying its participants).
She faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
