SSU detains enemy agent who prepared another russian missile attack on Vinnytsia (video)
As a result of a counter-sabotage operation in Vinnytsia, the SSU detained an FSB agent who was preparing a new russian air strike on the city.
The enemy asset received such an assignment from the russian special service in early June this year.
To carry out the task, the spy walked the streets of Vinnytsa every day and covertly recorded the Defence Forces’ locations and movements.
Primarily, he tried to identify sites with the largest concentration of military equipment and heavy weapons of Ukrainian Armed Forces preparing for possible deployment to the front.
The russian agent also conducted reconnaissance around industrial facilities to determine level of security and presence of Ukrainian defenders.
The aggressor’s informant also ‘suggested’ to the occupiers the ‘priority’ of targets which russia was preparing to strike with cruise or ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.
However, the SSU worked proactively - the FSB agent was timely identified, his actions – documented. The SSU detained the suspect when he was conducting reconnaissance.
According to the investigation, the traitor is a 30-year-old Vinnytsia resident who supported russia’s armed aggression. Due to his pro-kremlin views, he came to the attention of the FSB, which recruited him remotely for intelligence collection and sabotage against Ukraine.
Under the FSB’s instructions, the agent was supposed to transmit the collected data in the form of electronic maps and photographs.
During the search, investigators found the detainee’s mobile phone, which he used for his criminal activities.
Based on the gathered evidence, the SSU notified the offender of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Vinnytsia Office carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
