SSU detains russian agent who spied on Ukrainian military positions near russian border in Sumy region (video)
The SSU Counterintelligence exposed an agent of russian special services on conducting reconnaissance and subversive activities. As a result of a special operation, a resident of Sumy was detained for passing information to the enemy on the deployment, armament and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the russian border.
It has been established that the traitor was recruited by russian special services during russia’s full-scale invasion of our state. Following instructions of the invaders, he carried out photo and video recording of the location of defence facilities and movement of Ukrainian military equipment.
The agent passed the data to his supervisor via secure electronic communication channels.
During the searches at the detainee’s residence, the law enforcement found computer equipment and mobile devices with evidence of criminal activity.
The detainee will be notified of suspicion of a crime under Article 111.2 (treason committed under martial law) of the CCU. The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.
The pre-trial investigation is underway.
