SSU detains enemy informant who used optical sights to collect intelligence on AFU positions in Kramatorsk
In Donetsk oblast, the SSU has apprehended another agent of russia’s FSB. The traitor passed information to the aggressor on locations of Ukrainian defenders in the frontline territories.
The enemy was primarily interested in the sites with large concentrations of the AFU’s personnel and military equipment in Kramatorsk.
To collect intelligence, the perpetrator used optical sights for weapons. He personally drove around the city and spied on the movement of the Defence Forces.
The traitor also ‘hunted’ for temporary bases of Ukrainian units. If he identified such, he conducted additional reconnaissance and sent accurate geolocations to the aggressor.
The occupiers needed the intelligence to prepare new missile and drone strikes on the frontline city.
The SSU identified the informant, found and detained him.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a 30-year-old local resident, recruited by the FSB remotely earlier this year, as a supporter of the kremlin’s ideology.
During the search of his home, the SSU seized a mobile phone with evidence of communication with the russian service.
SSU investigators have notified the enemy accomplice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
