SSU detains russian forward observer who ‘guided’ missiles for repeated strikes on Zaporizhzhia infrastructure

In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of Zaporizhzhia region, the SSU Counterintelligence detained another russian agent who helped enemy carry out missile attacks.

The individual adjusted russia’s targeted strikes on critical infrastructure in the oblast.

The traitor ‘aimed’ russian weapons at energy facilities and other life support systems.

The investigation established that after the russian air strikes the man had gone to the affected areas to record consequences of the hits and pass this information to the enemy.

Occupiers needed the ‘updated’ data for further attacks on the city.

The agent also gathered intelligence on temporary bases and movement of Ukrainian military equipment in Zaporizhzhia.

He passed collected information to the aggressor through social networks, including the Telegram channel of a traitor and a kremlin propagandist Rogov.

There, he wrote positive comments under ruscist ‘messages’, called for support of the aggressor state and posted classified information on targets in Ukraine in the form of marks on electronic maps.

As a result of operational and investigative efforts, the SSU located and detained the offender.

The detainee is an employee of one of Ukrainian defence plants. After the full-scale invasion began, he was recruited by russian special services for reconnaissance and sabotage in the south of Ukraine.

The man came to occupiers’ attention because of his pro-russian ‘activity’ in social networks, where they offered him confidential cooperation.

As a reward, russians ‘guaranteed’ money and a ‘position’ if the region is captured.

During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found a mobile phone and computer equipment with evidence of his communication with the russian ‘supervisor’.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion.

Court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia Region conducted the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
