SSU detains enemy agent who guided russian ballistic missiles at Kyiv’s co-generation power plants and spied on Defence Forces
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service who adjusted air strikes on Kyiv’s energy infrastructure and spied on the Defence Forces.
One of the traitor’s tasks was to find and transmit photos, videos, and coordinates of heat and power plants. The ruscists were using these data to prepare a new series of missile and drone strikes.
As the investigation established, the FSB’s task was carried out by a woman from Rivne region, who came to russia’s attention when she was looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.
After recruitment, the agent was sent to Kyiv region, where she approached local cogeneration plants and recorded their technical condition after previous russian strikes.
Subsequently, the enemy asset was instructed to travel to Odesa and Chernihiv regions to monitor the movement of echelons and convoys of the Defence Forces.
To gather intelligence in Odesa region, she settled in a hotel room with a view of the local railway station. From the window, the agent observed trains carrying military equipment moving towards the front line.
The perpetrator then travelled to Chernihiv region and rented an apartment near the motorway. She installed a telephone camera with remote access for the FSB on the windowsill of her temporary residence.
With the help of the device, the russian service hoped to track the number and types of military equipment heading to the front line.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the agent in Chernihiv region. Two smartphones, removable SIM cards, and other evidence of working for the enemy were seized from her.
Based on the evidence, Security Service investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices Kyiv and Kyiv region, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
