SSU detains enemy agent preparing russia’s attacks on 9 targets in Odesa oblast

The SSU has detained another informant of russian intelligence services who helped the aggressor prepare a new series of air attacks on Odesa region.

The traitor passed electronic coordinates of 9 military and critical infrastructure facilities to the occupiers.

The targets included the Defence Forces’ fortifications and strategically important railway locations.

The aggressor’s spy also tried to track flight directions of Ukrainian combat aircraft.

However, the SSU exposed the suspect at the initial stage of her reconnaissance and sabotage activities and informed the Ukrainian command on possible threats of russian air attacks. The units at these locations have been protected.

The SSU detained the woman on her attempt to pass new intelligence to the occupiers.

According to the investigation, the informant is a resident of Chornomorsk, who at the onset of russia’s full-scale invasion supported the occupiers and vehemently expressed this on banned social networks.

In this way, she came to the attention of enemy special services, which later remotely recruited her.

To gather intelligence, the woman regularly travelled by taxi around the oblast and recorded locations and movements of Ukrainian defenders.

The data were sent to the occupiers as text and voice messages and screenshots of electronic maps with marked Ukrainian targets.

During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of the suspect’s communication with the aggressor was seized.

SSU investigators served the enemy accomplice a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, transfer of weapons, armaments, ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Odesa Office carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
