SBU detains fraudsters on sale of People’s Deputy assistant posts
In Kyiv, SBU officers detained fraudsters who offered illegal employment as assistants of People's Deputies from the "Servant of the People" for money.
The operatives of the special services established that the attackers tried to sell "positions" and looked for clients via alleged ties with the political authority and the Verkhovna Rada. The cost of such promotion valued to USD 18,000 per post. After payment, customers were promised an internship and an ID-card.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspects in Kyiv city according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on receiving USD 3,000 from a customer.
Criminal proceedings were initiated upon the fact of fraud. The issue on serving the offender a suspicion notice is being resolved.
Investigations are underway. Other alleged facts of fake employment offers are being checked.
The exposing operation was carried out jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv local Prosecutor's Office.
