SSU detains another 10 enemy agitators, including “political expert” from Medvedchuk's media pool
The SSU has thwarted new attempts by russian intelligence agencies to undermine the social and political situation in various regions of Ukraine.
As a result of complex operations in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Vinnytsia regions, 10 enemy agitators were detained who were disrupting mobilization and justifying russia's armed aggression.
In Kyiv region:
A “political expert” known to appear frequently on Viktor Medvedchuk's TV channels, where he regularly promoted kremlin narratives, was detained.
The offender was a member of the FSB agent network coordinated by the editor-in-chief of Politnavigator website, Serhii Stepanov. At the beginning of the full-scale war, the SSU exposed this enemy cell. Two members of the russian intelligence network were detained, and its resident, Stepanov, who is hiding in Crimea, was notified of suspicion in absentia.
After February 24, 2022, their accomplice from Kyiv region was hiding from justice, using different homes in Ukraine.
In Vinnytsia:
The SSU exposed a 39-year-old administrator of several YouTube and Telegram channels who conducted online consultations on how to resist the lawful actions of the Territorial Recruitment Centers. In addition, according to the investigation, the suspect misappropriated funds donated by Ukrainian citizens to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Zhytomyr region:
Three subscribers to a local Telegram channel were detained for calling for physical violence against representatives of military registration and enlistment offices.
The perpetrators also leaked the geolocation of patrols and mobile checkpoints of the Ukrainian military and law enforcement officers in a chat.
In Chernihiv region:
the subversive activities of a 31-year-old Telegram channel administrator and four of his accomplices, who disseminated data on the locations and routes of Ukrainian military, were shut down.
Based on the evidence collected, all the suspects were served notices of suspicion under the following articles of the CCU:
- 111.1 (high treason);
- 161.1 (violation of equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, region, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds);
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period);
- 190.1, 190.2 (fraud).
The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions under the supervision of Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Offices.
