SSU detains another two FSB informants who adjusted enemy strikes on Kharkiv region
In Kharkiv region, the SSU has apprehended two agents of russia’s federal security service. They tried to reconnoiter the sites of large concentrations of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in the region and passed this information to the ruscists.
The perpetrators are residents of Kharkiv. They acted separately and were recruited by the aggressor through Telegram channels.
One of them is a former lecturer at a local university. On the occupiers’ orders, he collected geolocations of reserve command posts and fortifications of Kharkiv’s defenders.
To do this, the spy drove around the northern outskirts of the city in his car, secretly recording the locations of Ukrainian defenders, and then reported to the FSB.
Another traitor is a security guard at a local hotel who, under the guise of walking, spied on the temporary bases of the Defence Forces.
He sent the collected data via a messenger app to his russian handler as texts and screenshots of Google maps with potential targets marked.
The SSU’s cyber units uncovered both enemy assets, documented their sabotage activities and detained them at their homes.
Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of the Defence Forces.
During the searches, mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of cooperation with russia were seized.
SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on the transfer, movement or location of the AFU if they can be identified on the ground).
The suspects are in custody without bail and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
