The SSU Counterintelligence and cyber teams have detained two more enemy agents in the Mykolaiv region. The perpetrators acted separately but carried out similar tasks for the enemy – guiding russian missile and drone attacks at targets in the city.

The investigation revealed that the traitors had been recruited via Telegram channels, where they posted anti-Ukrainian comments in support of russia.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained a local labourer who, on the orders of russia’s federal security service, adjusted strikes against the regional centre’s logistics infrastructure.

The agent was also tracking combat positions of Ukrainian air defence forces protecting the airspace in southern Ukraine.

To gather intelligence, he cycled around the area, recording the electronic coordinates of potential ‘targets’ on his smartphone.

In addition, a female employee of the market administration was exposed for working for russia’s military intelligence (‘the GRU’).

At the GRU’s instructions, she recorded the locations of reserve command posts and Defence Forces checkpoints.

The enemy asset walked about the city and its outskirts, covertly photographing military installations and marking their locations on maps.

She also subtly elicited information from acquaintances and market visitors during casual conversations on unrelated topics.

The SSU systematically documented the offences committed by the agents and arrested them.

Simultaneously, action was taken to secure Ukrainian facilities within the area of enemy reconnaissance activity.

During searches, computer equipment and mobile phones containing evidence of the suspects’ work for the aggressor state were seized.

SSU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspects face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Office in the Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
