SSU detains another two spotters who guided russian strikes at Sloviansk and Kramatorsk

In Donetsk region, the Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another two enemy agents. Separately, they adjusted ruscist air attacks on Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

The aggressor was trying to find out the locations of bases and logistics centers of the Defense Forces involved in the fighting on the eastern front.

To obtain the coordinates for the attacks, the occupiers remotely recruited two local residents.

One of them is a 47-year-old resident of Sloviansk. In August 2024, the man came to the attention of russia’s military intelligence when he posted pro-kremlin comments on social media.

After recruitment, the agent tracked locations of large concentrations of Ukrainian troops, in particular near the checkpoints at the entrances to the city.

The perpetrator also tried to identify ammunition depots and repair stations for Ukrainian military equipment.

He passed the collected information through Odnoklassniki social network to his old friend, a militant of the russian occupation groupings fighting near Bakhmut and cooperating with the russian intelligence.

Another traitor is a 37-year-old employee of a plant in Kramatorsk. As established by the investigation, the individual worked for russia’s federal security service, which recruited him through the Telegram channel where he wrote posts in support of the occupiers.

On the instructions of his russian handler, the agent walked around the target area, taking photos and marking locations of Ukrainian troops on Google maps.

The SSU detained the spy when he was preparing his ‘report’ with the coordinates of potential targets.

SSU investigators notified both detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
