SSU detains another enemy agent who adjusted ruscist air attacks and carried out arsons in Ukraine
The SSU has apprehended another agent of russian intelligence services who operated in Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions. He is a 22-year-old barista from Vinnytsia who adjusted enemy strikes and committed arsons.
The perpetrator was collecting information on one of Kyiv’s thermal power plants, which the occupiers planned to attack with a combined missile and kamikaze drone strike.
He also tried to identify radar stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that protect the airspace of the region.
In addition to performing enemy tasks in Kyiv oblast, the traitor tried to set fire to transformer substations on the railway in Vinnytsia region.
However, the SSU Military Counterintelligence identified the traitor, documented his crimes and detained him in hot pursuit after he attempted to burn a transformer.
The investigation established that the young had been remotely recruited by russia in October this year.
During the searches, the SSU seized a mobile phone with an anonymous messenger chat through which the asset communicated with his russian handler.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
