SSU detains another informant working for russian intelligence and adjusting enemy strikes on Mykolaiv
In Mykolaiv, the Security Service of Ukraine had apprehended another member of the russian intelligence network exposed in March this year. Then, four russian agents were detained for adjusting missile and drone strikes on the city.
The enemy intended to target reserve command posts and logistics depots of the Defense Forces fighting on the southern front.
Now, the fifth agent has been detained. After the cell had been dismantled, he went into hiding trying to evade justice.
The perpetrator is a 50-year-old local unemployed man who came to russia’s attention due to his pro-kremlin comments on Telegram.
He, like the rest of the group, was in contact with the occupiers through the traitor Serhiy Lebedev (also known as Lokhmatyi), who is hiding in Donetsk and works for both russia’s FSB and military intelligence.
The agent, acting separately from other assets, walked around the city and tried to identify the locations of Ukrainian defenders.
The man also tried to elicit information he was looking for from his acquaintances during conversations.
The collected data was sent via a messenger app to Lokhmatyi, who then reported it to his russian handlers.
The suspect’s mobile phones with evidence of his work for russia were found during searches. The Service also seized ammunition for small arms, the origin of which is being established.
SSU investigators have served the enemy accomplice a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement, transfer or location of the Armed Forces Ukraine);
- 263.1 (illegal handling of ammunition).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by SSU Office in Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
