SSU detains another FSB mole in AFU ranks in Kursk

The Security Service, with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained another agent of russia’s federal security service in a combat unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The perpetrator guided russian strikes at the positions of the unit in which he served.

The investigation established that the enemy accomplice is a 31-year-old driver of an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who was performing combat missions on Kursk direction.

On the orders of his russian handler, the mole gave the FSB remote access to his phone so that the occupiers could track his location online.

In this way, the aggressor tried to use him as a ‘live beacon’ to guide strikes against the Defense Forces.

Before the attack, the occupiers sent their asset a message to urgently leave the area.

The agent then left the military unit without permission and went to Kharkiv, where he hid and waited for further instructions from his handler. He hoped to be extracted to russia, as he had been promised by the FSB.

However, the SSU prevented this and detained the suspect at his home in Kharkiv. The mole’s mobile phone with evidence of his work for russia was seized.

Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of Ukrainian troops on the front line.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Eastern Region.
