In Donetsk oblast, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’). The woman adjusted russia’s air strikes on the Defense Forces in the frontline areas of the region.

The enemy was targeting in the locations of Ukrainian troops and military equipment in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

To obtain intelligence, the occupiers remotely recruited a 50-year-old employee of a local café frequented by military personnel.

According to the investigation, the traitor secretly filmed Ukrainian soldiers and their cars on her phone camera on her way to work. To maintain her cover, the agent pretended to be speaking on a video chat.

She then sent these video reports to the GRU via a ‘liaison’ – an employee of the russian ministry of defense hospital, whose identity has already been established by the Security Service.

The latter recruited the agent on one of the pro-russian Telegram channels, where the woman left anti-Ukrainian comments.

The SSU documented the crime and detained the perpetrator at her home.

During searches, two mobile phones with evidence of her work for the russian military intelligence were seized.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU – high treason, committed under martial law.

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Chernivtsi Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
