SSU detains another spotter who adjusted russian strikes on Kherson

The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another agent of russia’s federal security service who adjusted russian artillery, drone and air strikes on the right-bank Kherson region.

According to the SSU’s cyber units and investigators, the enemy’s main targets were the positions of Ukrainian troops defending the area.

To obtain coordinates for strikes, the russian service recruited a 44-year-old local unemployed woman. She came to the attention of the occupiers because of her pro-kremlin comments on Telegram channels.

To carry out the aggressor’s task, the traitor walked the streets and suburbs of Kherson, covertly took pictures of the Defence Forces’ bases and then marked their locations on Google maps.

She also collected intelligence on the consequences of russian strikes and prepared the ‘reports’ for her handlers.

The SSU documented the perpetrator’s crimes and caught her in the act of conducting reconnaissance near a military installation.

A mobile phone with evidence of working for the enemy was seized from the suspect.

SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
