SSU detains six more pro-russian Internet agitators

The Security Service of Ukraine detained six more Ukrainian citizens who were spreading calls in support of russia's war against our country and justifying the war crimes of racists.

Kyiv city:

A pseudo-expert who actively supported russia's armed aggression on his Facebook page was detained.

The investigation revealed that the defendant has a russian passport and is the author of several pro-kremlin publications that were clandestinely printed for money from moscow before the full-scale invasion of russia.

In these pseudo-scientific works, the author falsifies the historical facts of the formation and development of Ukrainian statehood in favor of the russian federation.

The defendant also used kremlin propaganda "theses" in his books, in which he justified the seizure of part of the territory of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia region:

A displaced woman from the temporarily occupied city of Holubivka in Luhansk region was exposed for praising Putin and glorifying the "kadyrovites".

Another defendant is a resident of Berehove district, who posted on his Facebook page calls for one of the region's national communities to support russia's armed aggression.

Zhytomyr region:

Three enemy agitators were exposed at once. One of them organized artificial conflicts with representatives of the TRC. During the provocations, the suspect tried to discredit the Ukrainian military and urged others to evade mobilization.

Another was a local taxi driver who, during his rides, imposed kremlin fakes about the war against Ukraine on passengers.

Another person involved in Odnoklassniki called for prayers for putin.

SSU-initiated examinations confirmed the facts of information and subversive activities of the enemy's accomplices.

The SSU investigators served the detainees a notice of suspicion (in accordance with the crimes committed) under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • Parts 2, 3 Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants);
  • Parts 1, 2 Art. 110 (trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).

The investigation is ongoing. The offenders face up to 10 years in prison.

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office, as well as the Zakarpattia and Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor's Offices.
