SBU detains corrupt official of Kyiv Regional State Administration

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the technical supervision engineer of the Department of Regional Development of the Kyiv Regional State Administration for corruption.

Allegedly, an employee responsible for technical supervision at state construction sites planned to illegally get rich by building a school in Vyshneve, Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district. He demanded from the developer more than UAH 220,000 (USD 7,800) for not creating artificial obstacles during the acceptance of the work performed and approving the documentation, bypassing the established procedure.

The engineer was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine in the applicant's car while receiving the final part of the bribe - UAH 200,000 (USD 7,100).

Criminal proceedings have been instituted on acceptance of an offer, promise, or reception of improper advantage by an office holder.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offense. The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the detainee is under consideration.

The exposure of the corruption crime was carried out jointly with the investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv city under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office.
