SSU detains Ukroboronprom employee who worked for russian military intelligence (video)

The SSU Counterintelligence prevented leakage of classified information from one of the leading state-owned enterprises, a part of the Ukroboronprom concern.

As a result of a special operation in Kyiv, the SSU detained a russian agent who had been instructed by the enemy to get a job in the Ukrainian defence company to collect intelligence for the aggressor state.

The SSU identified the suspect at an early stage of his sabotage activities and documented the criminal actions.

The investigation established that the offender had been covertly collecting information on the available Ukrainian weapons supplied to the AFU units on the eastern and southern fronts.

The agent also prepared ‘reports’ for the occupiers on the consequences of russia’s missile strikes on Kyiv.

To do this, he drove around the city and photographed the exterior of Ukrainian facilities after the attacks.

The spy transmitted intelligence through anonymous messengers to an employee of the main directorate for international military cooperation of the russian ministry of defence.

This russian official further informed the military intelligence of the aggressor state.

During the searches, the SSU found communication devices with evidence of the agent’s criminal activity.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under the Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.

The SSU Office in Vinnytsa region carried out the operation under the coordination of the SSU Counterintelligence Department and the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with the Ukroboronprom’s internal security unit.
