SSU detains recidivist-TikToker who exposed Ukraine’s air defence systems during 5 November russian drone attack on Odesa

The SSU has apprehended an individual who illegally disseminated information on russia’s massive air strike on Odesa on the night of 5 November.

The man filmed the work of Ukrainian air defence units with his phone camera and posted the videos on his TikTok page.

In the description, he indicated when and where he shot them. In a matter of minutes, the footage was included in the recommendations of many users, including russian intelligence services.

The occupiers could have used the obtained information to adjust repeated strikes on the city with missiles and kamikaze drones.

The SSU identified and detained the perpetrator.

According to the investigation, the suspect is a 35-year-old Odesa resident who had previously served a sentence for theft and robbery.

During the searches of his apartment, the SSU found the mobile phone he used to illegally film and disseminate videos of the Defence Forces’ combat operations.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the offender of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (dissemination of information on transfer, movement or deployment of the AFU).

The court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect, who is facing up to 8 years in prison. The investigation is underway.

The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
