SSU detains three enemy agitators who called for seizure of power in Ukraine and supported Wagner group
The SSU exposed another three pro-kremlin Internet agitators in several regions of our country.
The offenders publicly justified russia’s armed aggression and spread calls for a forceful seizure of power in Ukraine.
They disseminated hostile narratives from anonymous social media accounts, including those banned in Ukraine. The material for the destructive content was taken from russian Internet resources.
In Kyiv region:
The SSU cyber units blocked the unlawful activity of an IDP from Mariupol who created several propaganda pages on social networks.
One of the anonymous accounts targeted users in the European Union.
The woman used this resource to try to discredit the Defence Forces and distort facts of Ukraine’s history.
The SSU also detained a pro-russian Internet agitator from Bucha. On the Odnoklassniki platform, he justified the occupiers’ war crimes and popularized the Wagner group and its owner Prigozhin.
As the investigation revealed, during the occupation of Bucha the man and his family evacuated to Prykarpattia. Nevertheless, in the social network he regrets that the invaders failed to ‘take Kyiv in three days’ to overthrow the ‘nazi regime.’
In Odesa region:
The SSU detained a local resident who used the russian social network Vkontakte to spread calls for destruction of government buildings in Kyiv.
The individual also disseminated prohibited communist symbols on the Internet.
The suspect was served a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 109.2 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power);
- 436-1.1 (production, distribution of communist and nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (nazi) totalitarian regimes).
Investigations are underway.
The SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Ivano-Frankivsk region and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea exposed the offenders under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
