SSU detains informant from Dnipro who leaked AFU geolocations to enemy chatbot
In Dnipro, the SSU has detained a supporter of ruscism who passed geolocations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the enemy and publicly called for a seizure of power in Ukraine.
This is a 36-year-old resident of Dnipro. In the spring of this year, he wrote a message to a russian chatbot offering his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
After receiving a reply from the occupiers, their accomplice began collecting intelligence on deployment and movement of the Defence Forces in the city.
The traitor focused on sites with large concentrations of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment.
The invaders were also interested in coordinates of local territorial recruitment centers and logistical bases of Ukrainian defenders, as well as information on consequences of russian strikes.
To spy, the man travelled around the city, monitoring the target locations.
The individual was also a blogger. He recorded streams supporting russian occupation troops and calling for a violent takeover of power in Ukraine.
The videos were posted under a pseudonym on his YouTube channel.
The SSU identified the perpetrator in time, documented his crimes and detained him.
Action was taken to protect the bases and routes of Ukrainian units.
During the search of the suspect’s apartment, the SSU seized his written records, computer and mobile phone with evidence of the crime.
SSU investigators have now served him a notice of suspicion under three Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.7 (collaboration);
- 109.2 (public calls for forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power);
- 436-2.2, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Cherkasy and Dnipropetrovsk regions under the procedural supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
