SSU detains two enemy informants who collected intelligence on Ukrainian air defence in Odesa region
In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in Odesa oblast, the SSU exposed another two informants of russian special services.
They were collecting intelligence on location of the Defence Forces units and strategic critical infrastructure facilities in the region.
The enemy was primarily interested in information on movement of convoys with military equipment and positions of the AFU’s air defence systems.
The enemy planned to use these data to prepare air strikes on the regional center.
However, the SSU Counterintelligence timely identified both offenders, documented their criminal actions and detained them on an attempt to transmit intelligence to the aggressor.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplices are two locals; one of them – an employee of Odesa Heat Supply Utility Company.

They came to the attention of the enemy because of their pro-kremlin views, which they repeatedly expressed.
To communicate with the aggressor, the informants used messenger apps. Information was transmitted in the form of electronic photo and video files with descriptions of surrounding areas.
During the searches at the suspects’ homes, the SSU seized their mobile phones, which were used in criminal activity.
Both offenders have been notified of suspicion. The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
