Odesa: SSU detains russian agent who carried out reconnaissance of positions of anti-ship complexes (video)

The SSU prevented occupiers’ attempts to gather intelligence on location and movement of Ukrainian military units, anti-ship complexes and air defense systems along the Black Sea coast of Ukraine.

Russia planned to use these coordinates to carry out a series of missile strikes on southern Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the traitor was recruited by russian special services to carry out subversive activities in Odesa. For communication, they used a specially created anonymous Telegram channel. Through this channel, the agent received assignments and ‘reported’ on their fulfillment.

He was supposed to pass information on identified Ukrainian positions in the form of photographs and electronic maps with geolocation marks.

The agent was also instructed to set up an extensive intelligence network in the south.

During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of unlawful activity, including texting with the occupiers, was seized from the suspect.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion. The court has decided to keep the traitor in custody as a measure of restraint.

The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation together with the National Police in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
