SSU detains all members of one of the russian “election commissions” which operated during the occupation of Kherson region
The SSU Counterintelligence detained another nine collaborators who cooperated with the aggressor during the occupation of the right-bank Kherson region.
All of them were members of so-called “election commission №826”, which the ruscists created in the then occupied Beryslav district.
Also the head of the pseudo-institution, who is currently hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine, was identified.
According to the investigation, during her time in the “position” she organized an illegal referendum on the “joining” of the region to russia.
To carry out moscow's instructions, the collaborator recruited nine local residents, from whom she later formed the full membership of the “election committee.”
On her orders, her employees massively agitated their fellow villagers to support the fake plebiscite and “vote” in favor of the kremlin.
On the day of the illegal “referendum,” the perpetrators made visits to private houses with “ballot boxes” and fake ballots.
During such raids, they were accompanied by armed invaders and collected “votes for joining the russian federation.”
During the liberation of the region, the “head of the election committee” fled with the occupiers to the left bank of the Kherson region, while her employees remained on the right bank and “lay low” near the contact line.
In this way, they hoped to avoid justice. However, the SSU officers identified their locations and detained them.
At present, the SSU investigators served the detainees a notice of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the CCU (collaboration, participation in organizing and holding illegal referendums in the temporarily occupied territory).
The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 10 years in prison.
The former head of the occupation “election committee” of the russian federation was served a notice of suspicion in absentia under the same Article of the CCU.
As she is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring the criminal to justice for the crimes against our country.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson regions under the procedural supervision of Ivano-Frankivsk District Prosecutor's Office.
