SSU detains agent who helped enemy evade Odesa’s air defenses

The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended an agent of russian special services who was preparing coordinates for new ruscist air strikes on Odesa. Among the enemy’s potential targets were reserve command posts and administrative buildings of the Defense Forces.

To get through Ukrainian air defenses during the attacks, the traitor tried to identify and pass coordinates of Ukrainian radar stations to the occupiers.

To obtain information on the actual location of Ukrainian defenders at temporary or permanent bases, he installed hidden cameras.

One of them was disguised opposite the main entrance to the SSU administrative building. The agent transferred the footage from the device’s flash drive to his mobile phone, and then sent it to his russian handler via a messenger app.

The SSU Counterintelligence uncovered the enemy accomplice, documented his crimes and detained him. Action was taken to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a 21-year-old local unemployed man who looked for ‘quick money’ on Telegram channels.

He was recruited there by the russian intelligence.

Video cameras with flash drives, as well as the suspect’s phone and SIM cards, which he periodically changed to conceal communication with the occupiers, were seized during searches.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The detained agent is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Odesa Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
