SSU detains enemy agent who gathered intelligence for missile strikes on Odesa region
The spy was collecting data on location of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and movement of military equipment and strategic goods in the area of the railway bridge near Zatoka village in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district.
The investigation established that during May 2022 a native of Odesa transmitted via a messenger app to representatives of russia and belarus data that the enemy could use in planning missile strikes and preparing sabotage in this area.
In particular, his messages contained detailed information on:
- transportation of military and strategic goods by railway;
- sites where cruise missile hit on the territory of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district;
- deployment of certain military formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the search of the suspect’s home, the investigators seized mobile phones with evidence of unlawful activity.
The traitor has been notified of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information about transportation of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement and stationing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law or state of emergency).
Investigation is ongoing to identify and bring to justice all those involved in the activity of the agent network.
