SSU detains enemy informant who adjusted Shahed drone strikes on Odesa
In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in Odesa oblast, the SSU detained another enemy agent.
According to the SSU Counterintelligence, the offender was disseminating information on location of the Defence Forces and strategic facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
It was his coordinates that the occupiers used to carry out one of the attacks with Iranian Shahed drones on Odesa.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a radio mechanic at one of Odesa plants of the military-industrial sector.
The traitor provided information to a group he created in the Telegram messenger, whose members were mostly russians, on locations of the Defence Forces units and their weapons at the defence enterprise and near it. In addition, the informant leaked data on fulfillment of defence orders by the plant.
After russian air attacks, the agent recorded and informed his Telegram group on the impact of the hits, detailing the degree of damage to targets. The enemy could have used this data to carry out repeated and prepare new kamikaze drone strikes on the Ukrainian city.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the detained individual a notice of suspicion under 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
