SSU detains enemy informant who guided russian missiles at shopping centers in Dnipropetrovsk oblast

As a result of operational and investigative activities in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed another enemy accomplice.

The traitor is a resident of Novomoskovsk, who collected information for the russian intelligence on bases and movement of the Defence Forces in the region.

In addition, he passed coordinates of commercial establishments, central squares and other public venues to the occupiers.

In his ‘reports’, the informant changed the names and designated such sites as military facilities.

The invaders needed the intelligence to prepare targeted missile strikes on Ukrainian towns.

The aggressor promised the agent money and a ‘position’ in the occupation administration in case the oblast is captured.

The SSU Counterintelligence documented the unlawful activity of the enemy informant and detained him at his own home.

According to the investigation, he was in constant contact with a representative of the russian special service, whom he met in one of the pro-kremlin Internet communities.

The agent used a messenger app to pass locations of Ukrainian targets to the enemy in the form of electronic coordinates or georeferenced photos.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the law enforcement found computer equipment and mobile phones, which he used to communicate with the aggressor, as well as ruscist symbols.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the detained individual of suspicion. The court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region carried out the operation jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
